Places are counted inside each listing's own rating group, so two listings at different ratings are placed against different groups; the watt figures themselves compare directly. * Arithmetic, not a measurement: 90 % charging efficiency, linear charging and a car that takes up to 11.5 kW on AC. Change those numbers in the charging-time tool. Source: U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR certified AC chargers, as of October 27, 2026.
How to use it
Type part of a brand or a model number into either box, then choose from the list under it. Leave charger B on “median of A's rating group” to see one charger against its peers. The address bar keeps both choices, so a comparison can be shared as a link. Links on the rating, brand and charger pages open this page with that charger already chosen.
What the numbers mean
Standby draw is the power the charger takes with no car connected. Idle draw is the power it takes with a car connected but not charging. Allowance used is standby draw as a share of the most that ENERGY STAR permits for that listing's set of features. If left in standby all year is standby watts × 8,760 hours ÷ 1,000, an upper bound for illustration and not a typical use. The three bars in the dark panel share one scale per measure, running from zero to the highest value on the whole list. Definitions and the checks applied to the file are on how to read the data.
The page reports what each listing says. It does not rate chargers, and a lower reading is not a judgment on the product. Connector type and purchase details are not in the data.
