Tesla, Rivian, ChargePoint and other familiar names on the list
At 48 A, the familiar names on the ENERGY STAR list run from 0.96 W (Wallbox Pulsar Plus NA) to 6.98 W (Rivian PT00057322) with no car connected, around a median of 3.54 W for all 134 listings at that rating. The file has 11 listings under seven car brands, and nine of the 10 Level 2 ones are rated 48 A.
How these listings were chosen
This page is a sample, picked by this site because the names come up so often: every listing on the ENERGY STAR file under a car brand, and one listing each from eight well-known charger brands. It is not a ranking and it does not cover the market. The brand list has all 461 listings.
The file identifies many products by model number only. It does not use retail names, so a charger sold under a familiar product name may appear here as a string of digits. The names below are as listed, with wildcard characters removed.
Listings under car brands
Seven car brands appear on the file, with 11 listings between them. The standby column is the draw with no car connected, and the place column counts from the lowest value inside that listing's rating group.
| Listing | Rating | Standby | Place in group | Idle | Cord | Network |

Place: 1 is the lowest standby draw in the listing’s rating group. “=” marks a shared place. Network: whether the listing reports a network connection.
Among these Level 2 listings, the Tesla 1457768 has the lowest standby draw at 1.36 W and the Rivian PT00057322 the highest at 6.98 W. The partner, meaning the company named as certifying the listing, is not always the car brand: the FoMoCo listing, under the Ford Motor Company name, gives AMPURE as its partner. The BMW 61905B30091 is rated 64 A, a rating outside the five common ones, so it is ranked against all Level 2 listings.
Four of them have reported identical test values in the ENERGY STAR list to a listing under a brand that is not a car brand: the Rivian PT00261633, the Rivian PT01314089, the Honda EMEVSE1 and the Mazda KMV6-V7460. The guide on shared test values explains what that match covers and what it does not.
The Tesla 1937825 is a dual-input listing marked as portable, so its place is counted among the Level 1 and dual-input listings and not at 32 A.
Well-known charger brands
The second table takes one listing from each of eight charger brands. Several of these brands have other listings with different values, so the row describes that listing and not the brand. The brand pages show the rest.

One listing per brand, chosen by this site as an example. Same columns as above.
The 48 A listings next to each other
On this page, 13 listings share the 48 A rating, which makes them the closest thing to a direct comparison. The median of all 134 listings at that rating is 3.54 W on standby. Twelve of the 13 sit below that median and one above it.
Standby is only one reading, and the order changes with the next one. The Wallbox Pulsar Plus NA has the lowest standby draw of this set, 0.96 W, and also its highest idle draw, 14.18 W, measured with a car connected but not charging. The idle median for all 48 A listings is 5.99 W.
Rating, charging time and cord
The rated outputs on this page run from 9.6 kW to 19.2 kW. They set a ceiling and the car sets another. Taking a 75 kWh battery from 20 to 80 % at 90 % efficiency takes 5 h 13 min at 9.6 kW. For a car that accepts up to 11.5 kW on AC, the 17 listings rated 11.52 kW or more all give the same time. Only with a car that accepts 19.2 kW does the top rating here reach 2 h 36 min. These are arithmetic results with charging treated as linear; the charging-time tool takes other batteries and limits.
Cord lengths on this page run from 16 ft (Rivian PT00057322) to 29 ft (Rivian PT00261633). One of the 18 Level 2 listings here reports no network connection: Rivian PT00057322. A network field says only that the hardware can connect; it does not describe an app or a utility program.
What the file does not settle
The file has no connector field, so it cannot show which of these listings use a J1772 or a J3400 plug. It has no prices, no installation details and nothing on reliability in use. Its values come from a laboratory test, so they describe the listed configuration in that test.
To check another pair, open the side-by-side lookup, which starts here with the two ends of the 48 A set and takes any of the 461 listings. It places each charger inside its own rating group, field by field.
